Heavenly Father Has A Plan

I honestly don't have a lot to say. Other than that Heavenly Father really has a plan. I marvel at this custom made learning experience called my life. As human beings, I think sometimes we feel like there's a big wide universe, and we're just like little ants or something. The truth is we are part of Eternity. In fact we are the Creator's greatest work. He not only created us, but He loves us, cherishes us, and HELPS us. We are great valiant beings, sent to become something strong. We don't have to know everything, or have it all figured out, but we just have to have faith. Follow the plan, be

Heyo, My Pals!

This was a good week! Just teaching the gospel, and inviting people to come unto Christ.

I am doing pretty good over here, not gonna lie I cant figure out what to say.

I spoke to one member this week, who is trying to prepare herself to go to the temple. She looked at me, and asked me from the depths of her heart, what will happen to her family in the next life. I just told her to keep being faithful, and don't give up. I reminded her of Alma the younger and how the faithful prayers of his father brought him back to the right path.  I know that that's true, that Heavenly Father is truly listening to us. Hope is never lost.  I know that's true, nothing is impossible. I am here today because of a series of real miracles. :)

That's my week, have a good one!

Wow, Another Week

Hello Family!

Wow another week, man this time is crazy fast! It was a good week. :)

I got to finally have an interview with Pres. Abraham, there's also a new policy where his wife is also in the interview. That was a little strange, but also really cool. They are so sweet, and even though they are very different from Pres. and Sister Kotter I still really love them.

Another Week In Ligao

We had just a good ol week here in Ligao :)

We had branch conference and President and Sister Abraham came. That was the first time I saw them face to face, they are so sweet! Pres. did that things where he shook my hand and looked into my soul. I am really so excited about his vision, right now he wants us to focus on really learning doctrine. He wants us to be able to teach pure doctrine very clearly. Which reminds me of a quote from the Bible that's been on my mind so much lately. Jesus told His disciples (which totally 100% applies to us, cause that's what we agreed to at baptism) He said, "Be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves." That thought has been in my mind a lot, and how I can really apply that. :)

I had some pictures, but the USB won't read it, soooooo....next week. :)

Something I've kinda been struggling with is there's this really amazing family who I love so dearly. They are so faithful, and they also struggle really bad financially, some of the worst I've seen. It breaks my heart. It also makes me feel like a rich spoiled white kid, which I've never felt in my life. I wish more than anything I could just give them the world, they are the sweetest kids I've ever met. Anyway, that tears my heart out every time I go there.

I'm doing good! Really excited for Zone Conference on tuesday. :)

Baptism, Children, And A Connection From Happy Island

Hello my wonderful family!

I am doing pretty good over here. :)

I's baptism was a success! :) He and E are best friends, they're so cute. There's another little boy who brings himself to church. He rides on a jeep and comes to church by himself. It's really cute to see the three of them hang out. I can't help picturing them ten years from now with mission calls. Amazing.

Hello to everybody! Thank you for the words of love and encouragement!

We had a good week, I'm just working on setting some new plans and goals. :)

This week I will probably be able to meet our new mission president, it's sort of strange, but I already love and sustain him.

The Lord's Work Goes On

Hello all my pals in Oklahoma, and everyone who reads these updates!

I am so sorry I don't write, I just don't express myself super great over email. However, I felt the need to update you now. :)

Everything is going great here! We have just been working really hard to teach people more about our Savior Jesus Christ, and His restored gospel.

Happy Father's Day!

Hello!

This has been a very busy and exciting week, full of sweating, walking, and sharing the gospel.

Tons of people are getting sick right now, fever and chills type stuff. SO this week I ate a ton of fruit, and had more energy then I have my whole mission. Also, I feel great so that's good wala pa akong sakit.

Rumor has it that rainy season won't start this year until August, so we will keep enduring. It's SO hot, but fantastic.

Hello, From Ligao!

Hello from Ligao my friends!

Ligao is great! It is substantially less hot here, and we have air conditioning!!!!! (hallelujah)

Sister Thomas is amazing! I'm actually having the time of my life here, and the two sisters who live are awesome. Right now I'm focusing all my efforts on helping sister Thomas learn Tagalog, I know exactly how she feels where you have so much you want to share deep in your heart, but getting it out of your mouth is not yet possible. She also has a really thick accent, so we've been working super hard in language study and while we're walking. Which reminds me, our areas are FAR and there's very few triceys.....so we walk a lot....

I was a little nervous about having a companion who wasn't a filippino, but I have marveled at the hand of God. He really does qualify those he calls, cause even though we're both foreigners people just keep opening up to us.  I'll meet someone for the first time, and they'll totally open up to us about their struggles and problems. The branch has been so quick to embrace me they are wonderful, they are pretty close to becoming a ward so that's exciting. We are working with a lot of part members, which is super nice and very new for me.

I was reading Elder Uchdorf's talk earlier, the one he gave last October. "Believe, Love, Do" I just felt very touched by it. I love reading conference talks cause I can here their voices in my head sometimes. (Here is the link if anyone is interested https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/2018/10/believe-love-do?lang=eng)

This place is so beautiful with the rice fields and then the volcano in the background.

Until next week!

Exciting Week

Okay, this was an exciting week!

We had exchanges in San Andres, and that was really fun! I got to work with this very sweet sister, who just finished her training. She is doing a wonderful job; I enjoyed getting to witness the miracles in her area.

I am getting transferred to Ligao, so I'll be close to Mayon! :) The Lord is putting me with Sister Thomas from Papau New Guinea (I know I spelled that wrong...haha). We were in the same apartment in Bulan last Christmas. :) I have never had a companion who wasn't a Filippina, but I'm excited for a new adventure!

Miracle- We had a gentleman just walk up and tell us he's been searching for truth a long time, and after we talked for a while we ended up sharing with him. We shared an overview about the Restoration, and he's super interested. :)

That my week, have a good one my friends!

My Birthday Week

This week has been EXTREMELY hot. I have never sweated so much in my life. It's always attractive to tract when you have sweat dripping down your face.......Welcome to summer in the Philippines. With all that said, it's been an amazing week!

The other sisters have been teaching this one sister for a couple of months. Last week she got married and baptized. :) I got to do her hair for her wedding, and my companion did her makeup, she made her wedding dress. She looked so pretty! I actually have braided a ton of sisters hair here, but I've never done it for a wedding so that was a first. :)

We surprised my companion on her birthday! :) We had exchanges that day, so we weren't together. The other sister worked her late so we had time to buy McDonald's, and put up the banner I made for her. :) Then we couldn't find cake, so the other sisters bought her a cake the next day. It was fun.

Hello!

Wow It was a pretty good week here in the Philippines.

I don't have a ton to say, I am currently adjusting to a new companion. We are both learning and growing, and we are learning to do it together.

Have a good week!

Happy Easter! They gave us some eggs, from their little hunt. We ate them for lunch after church, it was pretty good. Featuring my new companion ;)

I found imported chips and salsa. Yep I bought it. No regrets.

Blurry picture with the other sisters. We didn't feel like cooking so we got a 10 peso bowl of lugaw. It was delicious. :)
One of the top cutest babies I've ever seen! She is the great grand daughter of the sister that has the avocados.

Also! The avocados here are 100% different than the ones in America. Not to brag but......be jealous. We were making "ice candy,"  they were mashing it to make it into what is sort of a popsicle.

Happy Easter!

I am so sorry I wasn't able to call! We decided to work in the morning instead of later this evening, so I wasn't able to call.

Wow much has changed. Sister Cabrera is the best, I love her. She is really quiet and chill, so I'm getting used to that. Sometimes she's hard to read, but she's chill.

We have been tracting and finding very urgently this week, which was both exhausting and exciting. I learned a lot about the difference a big smile can make in talking to people. I would just smile really big at them, and then express interest in their lives. I don't know, I have just been working hard to let my desire to love them drive me, and it has been great. I have seen many sacred miracles this week, as I have tried to not just give a pass along card to everybody, but really talk to everyone. I don't know if that makes sense, but it makes talking to people a richer experience. :)

We stopped and talked to one lady who was sitting fanning her baby while he slept, (cause it's insanely hot).  We just started making conversation, and I asked who lives with her here at her house. (sounds weird but not weird here) To my surprise she began to cry. She told me she has a 4 year old (named Drake) and a baby. She dropped out of college to be their mom so she doesn't have a job. She then went on to tell me that literally just the day before, her boyfriend of 7 years left her. She is also epileptic, and has seizures. She wonders why her, and as she cried I gave her a big hug and told her we're friends now. :) I told her Heavenly Father knows her and loves her, I explained we have struggles to learn and grow here. I gave her a book of Mormon, and told her it's not an accident we met, it's really the will of God. :)

Anyway, I also got to sing, "I am a child on God" while a member played his homemade uklele (I don't know how to spell that). The coolest part, was his non-member brother requested the song!  He said he's not a member, but he loves that song cause it's true. :)

Pictures.....I have none, cause I forgot my camera. Next week. :)

Until next week! :)

Last Week With Sister Marzan

Hello!

This has been my last week with sister Marzan. :( We cried a lot last night when we found out, but it's okay.

I ate octopus yesterday......it was chewy, but I was pretty hungry.

Happy Sunday

Okay, much has happened. Saan ba ako dapat magsimula....

Brother J got baptized! It was a wonderful service.

We had exchanges with the sisters in San Andres, which was really fun. :) I got to work with sister Ramiro, and she is wonderful. She is training a new missionary right now, even though she just finished training. While we were planning, I found out she saved all the lessons she was nervous about for me. Haha! It was exciting, I got to teach law of chastity twice. It was a good teaching moment, we talked about how you don't have to be shy when teaching commandments, cause it's the will of God. :) One of the people we taught, had read the pamphlet before the lesson so he was prepared. I asked him about his thoughts, and he told me he had no idea that was a sin. He then went on to express the great sorrow in his heart, so we also got to teach repentance and the power of the atonement. I also got to attend their district council, which was nice. I will include the picture I took with her. :)

wala akong pictures kasi tamad ako......sorry

Hello!

We had a pretty great week! There isn't a lot to share that is out of the ordinary, sorry.

We have been preparing our friend J to enter the waters of baptism. His girlfriend is already a member, and he's been going to church consistently for a long time. Anyway my companion had the impression to teach him, even though he wasn't part of our plan. As we began to teach him the spirit was so strong, and so we extended a baptism date to him, and he accepted. Then a couple days later, he told us that that day while he was sitting in church he was wondering how he could be baptized....and then we approached him and asked is we could share. Then we extended and he was surprised and happy!

I asked a sister who doesn't come often, what she thinks Heavenly Father's plan for her is, and she teared up as she answered. She said to me, I think I need to be teaching my boys the gospel. You can pray for her cause her husbands a member, but he works in Manila so she hardly ever sees him.

Have a great week guys! I love you!

Another Amazing Week

Hello!

Okay we had a crazy busy week! Huwag Tayo Sumuko

Hello!

Thats my new motto, it means don't give up. :)

This has been quite a week. Thanks to our prayers Sister A and Sis M, both passed their baptismal interviews and will be baptized this week on the 16th! We have also been practice teaching with them, because they both wanna serve missions! I think the Elders and us are going to start a mission prep class, and an English class. English, because so many Filipinos are betting called to other nations. We are really excited!

Another Week In The Life ;)

Hello my dear family!

I have a bunch of pictures, cause I wasn't really able to email last week.....sorry.

Service project! we washed laundry for this family. It was super fun!
We are teaching this really big family, they are awesome. They're daughter Mikalynn, is progressing, she is 17 AND she accepted a baptism date at the end of March. She has an amazing testimony and she always shows me her study journal, which she made all by herself. She reads the scriptures and writes her thoughts.

Mission Leadership Training

I spent Monday evening until Wednesday traveling/having MLC. That's where all the STL's and ZL's get together and council with President Kotter at the mission home. It was really fun taking the boat again! I could have sat and watch the ocean forever, I really actually want to move here. I love it so much! The meeting was really good, and we basically got motivated to be amazing examples. We talked about rules and stuff like that, it was pretty chill.

I saw some miracles this week, that I wanted to share with you. :)

Packages Arrived!

Hello!

First of all HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY MAIN MAN!!!!!! HAPPY 16!! I have literally been telling everyone my baby sister is turning 16 for like 3 weeks! Unfortunately I am busier than I've ever been, I hardly have time to write in my journal. It's crazy! I am really happy though, opening an area is all sorts of exciting. #hoursoftracting I would like Mary to know that there is McDonald's here, and I just ate it for lunch in honor of her. Haha!

I got all 4 boxes all at once, everyone at zone conference was pretty shook! Haha! You are so sweet, my companion was very grateful for her package as well. Filipinos LOVE fruit snacks, they don't exist here. I am obsessed with body scrubs and stuff right now, maybe cause I've decided I might never wear make up again. Thank you for not sending me a ton of food, the trail mix is sobrang masarap (super delicious)! Salamat (thank you)! And of course beef jerky is life.

I Made It To Catanduanes!

Wow! So much has changed!

1. My companion is awesome! I love her, she's from Manila. :) She does speak English, but I try not to use English. She is an amazing cook, so I'm lucky. I also might get fat this transfer. Sayang. She is 25, and a really great example to me, I have already learned so much from her.

Transfer News & Pictures

Wow. I made a video, but transfer news came in! The Lord still has a lot for me to do.

This was great week, our investigators and members are pretty shook that I'm leaving Bulan, even though I've been here for 4 transfers. Needless to say, I'm gonna miss these people a lot, I feels a little like I'm leaving home all over again. BUT I am out of my mind excited for my new area, I wanted to serve on one of the Islands SO bad!!!! YAY!!
