Happy Father's Day!

Hello!

This has been a very busy and exciting week, full of sweating, walking, and sharing the gospel.

Tons of people are getting sick right now, fever and chills type stuff. SO this week I ate a ton of fruit, and had more energy then I have my whole mission. Also, I feel great so that's good wala pa akong sakit.

Rumor has it that rainy season won't start this year until August, so we will keep enduring. It's SO hot, but fantastic.

Hello, From Ligao!

Hello from Ligao my friends!

Ligao is great! It is substantially less hot here, and we have air conditioning!!!!! (hallelujah)

Sister Thomas is amazing! I'm actually having the time of my life here, and the two sisters who live are awesome. Right now I'm focusing all my efforts on helping sister Thomas learn Tagalog, I know exactly how she feels where you have so much you want to share deep in your heart, but getting it out of your mouth is not yet possible. She also has a really thick accent, so we've been working super hard in language study and while we're walking. Which reminds me, our areas are FAR and there's very few triceys.....so we walk a lot....

I was a little nervous about having a companion who wasn't a filippino, but I have marveled at the hand of God. He really does qualify those he calls, cause even though we're both foreigners people just keep opening up to us.  I'll meet someone for the first time, and they'll totally open up to us about their struggles and problems. The branch has been so quick to embrace me they are wonderful, they are pretty close to becoming a ward so that's exciting. We are working with a lot of part members, which is super nice and very new for me.

I was reading Elder Uchdorf's talk earlier, the one he gave last October. "Believe, Love, Do" I just felt very touched by it. I love reading conference talks cause I can here their voices in my head sometimes. (Here is the link if anyone is interested https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/2018/10/believe-love-do?lang=eng)

This place is so beautiful with the rice fields and then the volcano in the background.

Until next week!

Exciting Week

Okay, this was an exciting week!

We had exchanges in San Andres, and that was really fun! I got to work with this very sweet sister, who just finished her training. She is doing a wonderful job; I enjoyed getting to witness the miracles in her area.

I am getting transferred to Ligao, so I'll be close to Mayon! :) The Lord is putting me with Sister Thomas from Papau New Guinea (I know I spelled that wrong...haha). We were in the same apartment in Bulan last Christmas. :) I have never had a companion who wasn't a Filippina, but I'm excited for a new adventure!

Miracle- We had a gentleman just walk up and tell us he's been searching for truth a long time, and after we talked for a while we ended up sharing with him. We shared an overview about the Restoration, and he's super interested. :)

That my week, have a good one my friends!

My Birthday Week

This week has been EXTREMELY hot. I have never sweated so much in my life. It's always attractive to tract when you have sweat dripping down your face.......Welcome to summer in the Philippines. With all that said, it's been an amazing week!

The other sisters have been teaching this one sister for a couple of months. Last week she got married and baptized. :) I got to do her hair for her wedding, and my companion did her makeup, she made her wedding dress. She looked so pretty! I actually have braided a ton of sisters hair here, but I've never done it for a wedding so that was a first. :)

We surprised my companion on her birthday! :) We had exchanges that day, so we weren't together. The other sister worked her late so we had time to buy McDonald's, and put up the banner I made for her. :) Then we couldn't find cake, so the other sisters bought her a cake the next day. It was fun.

Hello!

Wow It was a pretty good week here in the Philippines.

I don't have a ton to say, I am currently adjusting to a new companion. We are both learning and growing, and we are learning to do it together.

Have a good week!

Happy Easter! They gave us some eggs, from their little hunt. We ate them for lunch after church, it was pretty good. Featuring my new companion ;)

I found imported chips and salsa. Yep I bought it. No regrets.

Blurry picture with the other sisters. We didn't feel like cooking so we got a 10 peso bowl of lugaw. It was delicious. :)
One of the top cutest babies I've ever seen! She is the great grand daughter of the sister that has the avocados.

Also! The avocados here are 100% different than the ones in America. Not to brag but......be jealous. We were making "ice candy,"  they were mashing it to make it into what is sort of a popsicle.

Happy Easter!

I am so sorry I wasn't able to call! We decided to work in the morning instead of later this evening, so I wasn't able to call.

Wow much has changed. Sister Cabrera is the best, I love her. She is really quiet and chill, so I'm getting used to that. Sometimes she's hard to read, but she's chill.

We have been tracting and finding very urgently this week, which was both exhausting and exciting. I learned a lot about the difference a big smile can make in talking to people. I would just smile really big at them, and then express interest in their lives. I don't know, I have just been working hard to let my desire to love them drive me, and it has been great. I have seen many sacred miracles this week, as I have tried to not just give a pass along card to everybody, but really talk to everyone. I don't know if that makes sense, but it makes talking to people a richer experience. :)

We stopped and talked to one lady who was sitting fanning her baby while he slept, (cause it's insanely hot).  We just started making conversation, and I asked who lives with her here at her house. (sounds weird but not weird here) To my surprise she began to cry. She told me she has a 4 year old (named Drake) and a baby. She dropped out of college to be their mom so she doesn't have a job. She then went on to tell me that literally just the day before, her boyfriend of 7 years left her. She is also epileptic, and has seizures. She wonders why her, and as she cried I gave her a big hug and told her we're friends now. :) I told her Heavenly Father knows her and loves her, I explained we have struggles to learn and grow here. I gave her a book of Mormon, and told her it's not an accident we met, it's really the will of God. :)

Anyway, I also got to sing, "I am a child on God" while a member played his homemade uklele (I don't know how to spell that). The coolest part, was his non-member brother requested the song!  He said he's not a member, but he loves that song cause it's true. :)

Pictures.....I have none, cause I forgot my camera. Next week. :)

Until next week! :)
